Care Comes First

I recognize the importance of a client-centered medical experience, which inspires me to create strong and long-lasting bonds with each of my patients. It’s a privilege to serve with a team to be able to provide quality medical attention through sound medical advice and a lifestyle program based on the latest evidence base.

Hi! My name is Simran and I am an Accredited Practising Dietitian, Accredited Nutritionist and Diabetes Educator. I’m also a busy mother of three young children. Raising a young family and 15 years of experience working in a busy Sydney metropolitan public hospital have inspired me to start “My Specialist Dietitian”.

I believe that everyone’s health matters and by equipping you with sound knowledge and the right advice I aim to help make healthy eating easy by providing you with tips and tricks to incorporate good nutrition into your busy lifestyle.

Each client will be individually assessed and then provided with a well-researched, personalised and comprehensive meal plan. My focus is to understand your lifestyle, your eating behaviour and your existing food knowledge and to then provide you with tailored education and guidance you understand the world of nutrition and healthy eating.

Mary-Anne Chamoun

Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) and Accredited Nutritionist (AN)

Bachelor of Science (Nutrition)

Honours Class 1 (University of Sydney)

My name is Mary-Anne and I have worked in a clinical setting for 12 years since graduating. This setting has allowed me to become very familiar with diabetes, high cholesterol, hypertension, weight loss, IBS and IBD (i.e. Crohn’s and ulcerative colitis). I also have a Health Promotion and public speaking background, where I mainly dealt with malnutrition and nutrient deficiencies of older Australians.

I enjoy working with CALD (culturally and linguistically diverse) clients and have a simplistic approach to education. I feel that nutrition advice is more effectively taught through client understanding of the nature of their condition. I have a particular interest in diabetes and all associated conditions including PCOS and insulin resistance. I approach all clients with compassion and understanding. With medical research progressing, the area of nutrition is constantly changing and improving. Hence, I am always working to stay up to date with the latest nutrition developments and guidelines.

Being a mother of 3 children under 5 years, I strongly emphasise the need to be creating lifestyle habits that will last a lifetime. I understand the frustrations when dealing with fussy eaters and meeting children’s requirements. Through my clinical experience, I have also seen an increase in children’s obesity where parents are so confused about lunchbox snacks and children’s portion sizes.  My experience as a dietitian and mother will help to guide you through all your children’s nutritional needs.
